Our mission

To improve the quality of life among orphans and vulnerable children through fundamental and vocational education

School Social Projects

1. Elementary and Primary Education

Kisakye Junior Community School is engaged in fighting poverty, illiteracy and vulnerability levels in Uganda through providing quality elementary and primary level education to the most vulnerable children in the society. The school works with the grassroot partners such as the qualified teaching staff, community people, volunteers, local authorities, civil society organizations and other partners that enable the school to fulfill its mission.

2. Vocational Education

Increasing self-sustenance through (self) employment as well as developing expertise in managing small businesses is one of Kisakye Junior Community School’s focus areas. There is a general lack of practical and business skills among the children and the working age. This has increased the number of unemployed youths in Uganda and increased on vulnerability to unhealthy practices, for example, engaging in unprotected sex for money, early marriages as well as antisocial behaviours such as drug abuse owing to frustration or theft to make ends meet. Kisakye Junior Community School trains vulnerable and marginalised children different practical skills to make them job creators instead of job seekers, and builds their capacity in starting up small businesses, sustainably managing their enterprises for self-reliance.

The following trainings are ongoing and needs empowerment from the grassroot partners;

  1. Tailoring and garment cutting.

  2. Knitting bags, baskets, making shoes

  3. Agricultural empowerment programs

  4. Brick laying etc

3. Social Responsibility

Kisakye Junior Community School is also engaged in addressing various social problems by providing basic needs (food, shelter, clothes, water) to orphans and vulnerable children in the society as well as providing employment opportunities to the local communities. For example, teachers, caregivers, support staff, transporters, constructors are sourced from the nearby community thus contributing to community support as a result the school’s presence.

4. Spiritual Development Programs

Together with anointed developmental partners, Kisakye Junior Community School works to promote Godliness among the pupils through offering regular spiritual growth programs including bible reading, evangelism, Sunday service and Peer group counselling.
